Who Are We?
Heffley Lake Fishing Resort was built in the mid 1940'ies when the only neighbours
in the valley were a few ranchers. In the beginning, access was by boat, but later a narrow road was opened,
the remnants of which can still be seen if you know where to go. These days, access is via good graded gravel road - there are no car-swallowing
pot holes and our guests arrive in vehicles ranging from small cars, to large RV motor homes and sometimes . …. by float plane.
Bought
by Jim and Sandra Millar in 1983, the property has been improved but still retains the overall flavour of the small family operated resort
it has been since the beginning. Many of the people you will meet here are repeat guests and adults who came here as youngsters and now bring
their children.
We
well remember the rat race of our jobs in Government and private industry and provide a stress-free environment and comfortable accommodations for our guests. Most cell phones
don't work here so you can really get away from it all.
Family pets will also find a welcome here at Heffley. Dogs must be leashed but if you ask at the office, Sandra can provide you with the location of many easy walking trails where the leash can come off and family pets can run in safety.
We
are people and pets friendly and an ideal compromise for those who want
their creature comforts, cozy accommodations, waterfront quiet and good fishing. Our resort
offers a traditional experience. If you would like to relax with the
special people in your life or just unplug from the stress of city living,
we can provide comfortable, modernized, housekeeping lakeside cabins and RV campsites
with some amenities.
Our
resort has been responsible for helping families get away from it all
for generations and we see many of the same faces every year. Well away
from traffic, telephones, TV, video games and malls, this is a small,
traditional facility where guests can reconnect with nature and actually
hear the wind in the trees or smell the rain and the perfume of the
BC forest.
Experience vacations as they were meant to be with nothing more pressing on your
agenda than what to have for breakfast. Days can be spent fishing for world famous Kamloops trout, or just drifting around watching the wildlife go about their
business. There are miles of walking trails with stops
along the way to smell the flowers.
Evenings
at Heffley will redefine the words "peace and quiet" as you listen
to water lapping against the shore. There is time here to appreciate
the orchestration of the sunsets and the loon chorus echoing through
the wilderness twilight.

to warm yourself by a campfire and look up …. at more stars than you've
